Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) is a sensing part of optical monitoring systems. It is a short segment of optical fiber that reflects particular wavelengths of light and transmits all others. Optical fiber connects to a light source and interrogator unit, that measures the reflection spectra from the FBG sensors, and provide data to the control electronics.
Applications
Optical sensors based on Femtotech fiber Bragg gratings let monitor temperature, pressure and deformation of such objects that hadn't been eligible for sensing before.
